In the early 2017, the SMU School of Law (SOL) will be launching the new SOL building with the state-of-the-art Kwa Geok Choo Law Library.
In conjunction with the 10th year anniversary celebrations which will also take place in 2017, our SOL alumni have banded together to raise funds for SOL undergraduates and alumni. The funds will go directly into supporting students in financial need, through bursaries, book grants, as well as other student and alumni activities which will benefit the undergraduates and graduates of SOL.
Since the inception of SOL, we have seen 6 graduating classes of budding lawyers. By coming together in a collective effort to raise funds for the next generation of law undergraduates and thereby future lawyers, our alumni exercise their giving spirit, and encourage current students to continue to pay-it-forward.
The committed spirit of giving back in a collective fashion towards initiatives that will better the long term vision of SOL will be the start of a perpetual journey for all alumni and pave the way for future generations of alumni to continue the tradition of honoring their alma mater and helping to shape and advance the mission of SOL.
Through this fundraising effort, we hope to collectively raise $100,000. The endowed funds will support deserving students who may otherwise be unable to complete their degree, allowing them to be able to experience the full rigour of the SMU experience.
