Being in a more privileged position now and having been a beneficiary of financial aid previously, I see the SMU Alumni Infinity Fund as a chance for us to give back and pay it forward in a small way, enabling more juniors who require assistance to receive it, so that hopefully, they can enjoy SMU life fully (perhaps even finding their other half), just as we did.
I am very grateful to SMU for the rigorous, sublime, and transformative education that provided me the platform to be who I am today and to be able to do what I do. I am thankful that I now have the resources to bless our SMU juniors, and I sincerely hope this is a privilege that we should not hesitate to take up.
My university journey is one that I will forever be grateful as a great deal of who I am today, the opportunities that I have gotten, and the relationships and friendships that I have built are a result of having benefited from the SMU Journey. Supporting the Alumni Infinity Fund is therefore my way of making sure others can benefit from the SMU experience as well, in perpetuity!
During my SMU years, my family was going through tough financial hardships and my grades were not good enough to qualify for financial assistance then. So when I chanced upon this SMU Alumni Infinity Fund opportunity, it called out to me to help fellow SMU students without worrying about financial burdens.
Standing on the shoulders of giants! I benefitted from support during my studies and it's truly a privilege to be able to pay it forward.
This gift is a way for me to show my gratitude to SMU for giving me the opportunity to learn from and with amazing faculty and fellow course mates from the MBA Class of 2010. I hope this gift allows more people to be able to enjoy the privilege to be part of the SMU family without having to worry about financial burden.
Despite having financial challenges as a student while pursuing my studies, I was very fortunate to still be able to have a very fulfilling and rewarding time at SMU. I am very proud of the efforts made by the University to help students in need and am thankful to be able to do a small part through my contribution to the SMU Infinity Fund.
