Despite having financial challenges as a student while pursuing my studies, I was very fortunate to still be able to have a very fulfilling and rewarding time at SMU. I am very proud of the efforts made by the University to help students in need and am thankful to be able to do a small part through my contribution to the SMU Infinity Fund.

I didn’t have time for any CCA at SMU because I had to balance between school and part-time work to help out with the family finances. Receiving this Alumni Infinity Fund bursary is a big support to me and my family. I am now able to focus more on my studies instead of working part-time. And during my free time, I will visit the gym with my friends to maintain a heathier lifestyle & relieve some mental stress as well!

It was thanks to this Alumni Infinity Fund bursary that I was able to take on a semester-long internship as a technology consultant to grow my career and yet still be able to save up for this overseas exchange through a combination of ad-hoc part-time jobs and savings insurance payout. It has been an eye-opening experience so far being able to live independently in a different city and interact with different individuals.
