SMU Alumni Access Fund

Some of the most memorable parts of university life happen beyond the classroom. The late nights preparing for a competition, the friendships forged on an overseas trip, the confidence built through experiences no lecture could replicate.

Yet for some students, financial pressures quietly close these doors. Not being able to afford the daily commute to university. Not having a reliable laptop. Having to turn down an overseas internship because the costs don't add up.

That's why we launched the SMU Alumni Access Fund.

The Fund provides non-tuition financial assistance to Singaporean undergraduate students facing financial need (based on gross monthly per capita household income in accordance with the prevailing Higher Education Community Bursary Tier 1 guidelines).

Each recipient receives a $5,000 cash grant which supports the following:

  • 🏠 Living allowance and essential expenses including learning materials, transport, and co-curricular pursuits, so students can enjoy a holistic university life
  • ✈️ Global exposure so they can say yes to overseas programmes and international learning opportunities
