SMU Circle Fund: Celebrating SOA’s 25th Anniversary
Over the past decade, graduating seniors have marked their SMU journey by giving to the SMU Circle Fund (formerly known as Leave Your Mark) to support their juniors and shared personal quotes inscribed on commemorative plaques across campus.
As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the School of Accountancy (SOA) this year, we invite all SOA alumni (undergraduate and postgraduate) to join in this tradition. Whether you graduated in 2025, 2015 or 2005, your message – and your gift – will etch a chapter in SMU’s story and shape its future.
Share your story, leave your mark and invest in the next generation
With a minimum gift of $250 to the SMU Circle Fund, you can leave a personal message; a thoughtful quote, a cherished memory, or words of gratitude. This message will be engraved on a plaque bearing your name, class, and year of graduation.
The plaques will be permanently installed in seminar rooms across campus, where your words will inspire future students who walk the same halls and sit where you once did.
This is a one-time opportunity available only to SOA alumni from 10 May 2026 - 24 December 2026.
How it works
- Make a gift of at least $250 to the SMU Circle Fund by 24 December 2026.
- We’ll be in touch within a month to collect your quote.
- Timeline:
- For quotes collected by 31 December 2026, plaques will be produced and installed approximately April 2027.
- For quotes collected after 31 December 2025, plaques will be produced and installed approximately April 2028. - We’ll share the location of your plaque and a photo with you once it’s been installed.

Quote guidelines
✔️Maximum 100 characters
✔️Use sentence case
✔️Keep the content secular and respectful
❌Quotes will not be accepted if they contain:
- Defamatory remarks against a person or an organisation
- Political content, or mention of any political party
- Explicit, vulgar, inflammatory, or threatening language
- References to unlawful activities or violence
- Product advertisements, marketing, or promotional content
- Instagram handles (personal or business)
- Only symbols or emoticons.
SMU reserves the right to decline any quotes deemed inappropriate.
