The Ian R. Taylor Memorial Fund provides a platform to honour the memory of British businessman and philanthropist Mr Ian R. Taylor as an innovator, an explorer, and a pioneer in his field. He was a highly successful international business leader, having transformed Vitol Group from a small fuel merchant into the global commodities powerhouse it is today.

Widely regarded as a pioneer of global commodities trading, Mr Ian R. Taylor expanded Vitol’s operations in Singapore and grew its Asian coverage extensively through the hiring and nurturing of local talents. Made possible through the collective donations of past and present staff of Vitol in Asia, the IRTMF commemorates his life through this endowed legacy of creating and challenging the boundaries of knowledge, and by supporting the development of future talent through higher education.
