Alumni Continuing The Cycle Of Giving
Since its founding in 2000, SMU has made contributing back to society a key part of the University’s DNA, and has strived to nurture students with empathy and a heart to make a difference for society, wherever their paths may take them. Launched in January 2019, the SMU Alumni Community Fund is an alumni-led fundraising campaign to create opportunities for alumni to come together as a collective network to support the University’s vision, foster greater bonds amongst fellow alumni and support the less privileged student community. This initiative is an on-going effort to seek alumni’s support in a range of initiatives. This includes providing 25 bursaries for financially-challenged undergraduates, driving 20 community service projects by alumni and students, and enhancing the mentoring programme to benefit over 5,000 students and alumni.
