Giving With a Purpose: SMU Alumnus Seeks to Inspire Social Responsibility with Scholarship Support

Singapore, 6 November — The Singapore Management University (SMU) has received a generous S$2 million gift from alumnus Gregory See (BBM 2007, MWM 2008) and his co-founders Avrian Tan and Tim Kusumo through their firm AGT Partners to establish the AGT Partners Scholarship. AGT Partners, founded by Gregory, Avrian and Tim, is a MAS-licensed fund manager anchored in value investing and long-term stewardship.

The AGT Partners Scholarship aims to promote social mobility and inspire social responsibility, nurturing compassionate individuals who not only strive for excellence but are committed to doing good. This commitment aligns closely with SMU’s mission to develop graduates who lead with integrity and a deep sense of purpose. At the heart of this meaningful contribution lies a powerful belief that success can be shared to cultivate meaningful impact.

Furthermore, this meaningful gift reflects a full-circle moment for Gregory.  Receiving a scholarship to pursue his Master of Science in Wealth Management at SMU, the opportunity provided him with a strong foundation to thrive in the world of finance upon graduation. Today, Gregory honours that legacy by planting new seeds of opportunity for the next generation.

The AGT Partners Scholarship will cover full tuition fees over four years and provide living expenses for up to eight inspiring but financially challenged students each year, in perpetuity. By removing financial barriers, this scholarship will empower recipients to pursue their education with confidence, purpose, and a spirit of giving.

SMU extends its heartfelt appreciation to Gregory, Avrian, Tim, and the team at AGT Partners for their vision, generosity, and steadfast belief in the transformative power of education. Their gift reflects the enduring partnership between the University and its alumni in shaping a kinder future where success is shared, and education remains a force for good.
