The Means To Tackling Today’s Societal Challenges
“Being awarded this Professorship provides a tremendous boost to my work. It will support more effective collaborations with top researchers globally, research outputs with greater practical relevance, as well as more productive network linkages between industry and academia. It will help fund data collection and recruitment of research assistants, as well as facilitate my participation in relevant conferences and field visits.”
Professor Wang Heli
Recipient, Janice Bellace Professorship, Lee Kong Chian School of Business
Many at SMU remember Professor Janice Bellace as the university’s first President, and a leader who set the stage for SMU to become the premier university it is today.
In honour of her work, seven current and former members of SMU’s Board of Trustees set-up the Janice Bellace Professorship to support faculty whose research has a meaningful impact on the community and the region.
Professor Wang Heli was conferred this title for her work, and as part of her first professorship lecture, she focused on corporate philanthropy and its sustainability.
The professorship will go a long way in supporting SMU’s commitment to addressing societal challenges and develop new solutions and approaches.
