Mr and Mrs Kho Man Kai Emergency Grant at SMU School of Accountancy and Social Sciences

An endowed emergency grant of $133,666 has been established at SMU, School of Accountancy and School of Social Sciences generously donated by Mr and Mrs Kho Man Wai. The grant is to support undergraduate students who are in need of immediate financial assistance. The $1,000 one-off emergency financial grant is for undergraduate student who face unforeseen crisis while their families seek for long-term solutions to meet their financial needs.

Mr David Kho believes that sometimes there are incidents in life such as the loss of a job, an illness of a family member or the death of a family member that might throw one off track, for a while. He would like to help students facing such circumstances to continue their academic progress despite these challenges. This financial grant is set up specifically to help alleviate their short-term financial hardships so that such incidents would not result in them having their education interrupted or they having to quit pursuing a degree altogether
