Naumi Hotels establishes new grant at LKCSB
The Chairman of Naumi Hotels, Mr. Surya Kumar Jhunjhnuwala, and his son Gaurang Jhunjhnuwala, CEO of Australia and New Zealand for Naumi Hotels, have contributed to the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at SMU to establish the Naumi Hotels Grant. The Naumi Hotels Grant will be awarded in perpetuity to support full-time female undergraduates with demonstrated financial hardships.
Mr. Surya set up The S. S. Jhunjhnuwala Charity Fund to honour his father Shyam Sundar Jhunjhnuwala, the late patriarch who founded the Hind Group. S. S. Jhunjhnuwala was a forward-thinking visionary of his time, and a passionate believer in providing a quality education for women. He was a mentor for one of the first all-girl schools in his ancestral home of Rajasthan.
Said Mr. Surya, "I firmly believe that responsibility is taken and not given, and so, giving back is at the core of our business. Our aim is to help students in need, better their hopes for their future. We believe that education is the most vital tool to unlock the potential of children and young adults. The goal of the SSJ Fund, is to provide students in Singapore with opportunities to achieve their potential and a chance to create for themselves a life they dream of.”
Mr. Surya hopes to continue his father’s legacy with the Naumi Hotels Grant. Read more about the grant here.
