Navigating Wealth Management in Asia
In June this year, we launched a three-part series on Navigating Wealth Management in Asia. These hybrid events bring together leading wealth management experts and practitioners in a panel discussion. Moderated by a knowledge leader from SMU, panelists will consider topics that are relevant and pertinent to our current Asian landscape.
In the first instalment covering “Benefits & Best Practices of Family Offices in Singapore”, Professor Emeritus of Finance Annie Koh moderated an esteemed panel comprising:
- Mr Andy Lim, Group CEO, JL Family Office
- Mr Loh Kia Meng, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Partner, Dentons Rodyk
- Assistant Professor Mandy Tham, Assistant Professor of Finance (Education), Academic Director, Master of Science in Wealth Management and Sino Suisse Fellow, SMU
Our panelists explored the key factors influencing the decision to set up a family office and how it can benefit wealthy families in Asia. Valuable insights and best practices of such privately structured offices operating in Singapore were exchanged. They also spoke about the regulatory environment in Singapore and how it meets the criteria that many families are looking for.
The second instalment will take place at the end of August, and will convene a panel on the topic of “Investment and Asset Allocation in a Bear Market”. To be moderated by SMU’s Chief Investment Officer, Harvey Toor, this session will question the current economic climate and explore how investors are approaching their financial strategy.
