Nurturing Asia’s Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

“As an entrepreneur, I deeply appreciate the development and mentorship I received during my time at SMU. As Sheng Ye Capital explores opportunities in Singapore, we are committed to local talent development. I hope that my additional gift will allow more aspiring young entrepreneurs to act on their passion and kickstart their journey into the world of entrepreneurship. Don’t be afraid to take the plunge. The road less travelled usually goes further.”
MR JEFF TUNG (BBM, 2013),
FOUNDER AND CHAIRMAN,
SHENG YE CAPITAL.

Mr Jeff Tung (BBM, 2013), SMU alumnus and founder and Chairman of Sheng Ye Capital, has made an endowed contribution to enhance the P.A.K. Entrepreneurship Fund which he and fellow SMU alumnus Mr Benjamin Twoon (BBM, 2013) had jointly established at SMU in 2015. Jeff graduated from SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) in 2013 and founded Sheng Ye Capital in 2014. This second endowed gift by Jeff was made in celebration of SMU’s and LKCSB’s 20th anniversary, as well as the 5th anniversary of the P.A.K. Entrepreneurship Fund.

The objective of the P.A.K. Entrepreneurship Fund is to support entrepreneurship activities undertaken by the University’s Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE), which include providing advice and guidance to student entrepreneurship club Eagles Inc, as well as programming for the P.A.K. Challenge, an annual business plan competition for aspiring student entrepreneurs organized by Eagles Inc.

Jeff was featured in the inaugural session of the SMU Alumni Leadership Series, which spotlights and recognises the contributions of some of SMU’s most influential alumni – exploring the impact that they have made in their respective industries, the insights that they have discovered along the way, and ambitions they have for the future.

Centring on the trifecta themes of “People, Purpose, Passion”, the Series celebrates the impact and value that SMU’s own have made in their communities, across industries, and throughout the world. Beyond success as industry leaders, what sets our alumni luminaries apart is their sustained capacity to pursue better for themselves, society, and the world.

The inaugural session saw Jeff share on what it takes for a Singaporean leader to forge success in China, innovations that matter in the dynamic supply chain management industry, and perspectives on the future of Singapore’s digital banking landscape. Jeff shared key insights and learnings from his journey, and spoke about what continues to drive him forward.
